  1. How have you made changes to LiveWell ?

It always starts with a New Year's Resolution, but this this is the year I am going to stick with it.

  1. How s this affected your family?

My family is definitely benefiting from these choices. We are trying new foods and becoming aware of how to make better choices.

  1. What are the challenges to Living Well?

The biggest challenge of Living Well for me has been exercise. I just have never been one to have the desire to workout or even think of starting an exercise routine. I have always found an excuse and realize just eating healthy is not going to work.

  1. What are you doing to overcome this challenge?

I work at the MEsa County Health Department and we have started a group called the Bulge Busters, we meet weekly and are a great support for each other. I have a "walking buddy" and we try to get in 2 walks per day and that is great because we are able to encourage each other to get out there and do it.

  1. What do you think of the LiveWell Pedometer Challenge?

The Pedometer Challenge has been the turn around point for me. At first it was something I "had" to do working at the Health Department and being a member of Bulge Busters. I decided to sign my family up for the challenge as well, my kids were so excisted and then it became fun to see who had more steps at the end of each day. I didn't realize how much counting steps could get me exercising and enjoying it.

  1. What are the benefits of Living Well?

The benefits for my family are definitely having more energy and knowing we will be healthier for years to come.

  1. What advise do you have for other families trying to LiveWell?

Making the decision to LiveWell as a family is probably the best thing you can do. Having good support and knowing we are teaching our young children to make healthy choices for themselves is so rewarding. Once you make the decision and begin to see and feel the results you will be so thankful you took the first step.
