1. When did you decide to Livewell?
Last summer, I wwas fed up being tired all the time. I was winded after going up stairs &
thought "this has to change." Kids are so mean, & they don't realize it. I was tired of giving them an excuse to say something to me. My life was centered on TV, video games, & of course, eating. I would spend 3-6 hrs on the couch or playing video games a day. I would eat all day & not exercise a bit. I dreaded exercise. I started eating better. Before, I ate fast food 2-3 times a week, & now I never do. I chose better hobbies. I tried not to live on my butt, & got active. Now that I've developed new habits, it's a lot easier. It’s easy to eat healthy now, & I have fallen in love with playing soccer. Now I spend 3-6 hrs outside having fun with friends or training for soccer. I don't eat as much, & what I do is nutritious. I am living a much more fulfilling life now than before.
What's the best part of Living Well?
The way I feel! I feel so much better than I did before. I started living life to live, not to eat, & that is a big deal to me.
Did anyone or anything help you LiveWell?
My mom helped alot, she would always help & support me. It really helped, that my mom was so into it and kept temptations out of the house. She is one of the main reasons why this worked for me. That & soccer- I love to play it now & exercising is no longer a chore!
What advice do you have for others?
You can't do it by yourself if you are living with others. You can help each other more than you can imagine. Be supportive & love each other! Don't be a slave to the scale. Judge your health by how you feel. Have fun with it! Living Well isn't a chore, it's a blessing. You won't miss the food after you feel so much better!
What are the challenges? The temptations of our world; bigger is better, and that means more calories, fat, and bad carbs. It is becoming alot harder to eat healthy. It is possible because I do it. But we are a nation on the go, fast food is way easier.
When did you decide to LiveWell? Why?
Well really it was last summer, I was really fed up of being tired all the time. I would be winded after going up a flight of stairs and thought "this really has to change". That and the kids when they are that age are so mean, and they dont really seem to realise it. I was tired of giving them an excuse to say something to me.
What did you do to improve your health? What do you do now to stay healthy?
Really i just started eating alot better. Before I would eat fastfood like two to three times a week, and now i never do. It really helped because my mom was so into it, that really kept temtation out of the house. I also really tried to develope better hobbies, I tried not to live on me butt, and start getting active. Now I do the same things, but because i have developed those habits it is alot easier than it was. It is really easy for me to eat healthy now, and i have really fallen in love with playing soccer.
What are the toughest challenges to living well? How do you overcome them?
Really I feel the toughest challenge is the temptation in the world we live in. In America bigger is better, and that means more calories, fat, and bad carbs. That and it is really becoming alot harder to eat healthy. It is possible because i do it. But we are a nation on the go, fastfood is way easier.
What are the best things about living well?
The way i feel! I feel so much better than i ever did before. It's almost like since i started doing this i started living life to live not to eat, and that is a big deal to me.
What was your life like before you decided to LiveWell? What is it like now?
My life was centered around T.V, Video games, and yes of coarse eating. I would spend 3-6 hours on the couch or playing video games a day. I would eat all day and not exercise at bit. In fact I dreaded exercise. Now I spend that 3-6 hours outsid just having fun with friends, or training for soccer. I don't eat as much, and what i do is healthy and nutrisious. I am really living a much more fulfilling life now than before.
Is there anything else you'd like to add about living well?
Don't be a slave to the scale. Judge your fitness and health by how you feel. Alot of the time people gain alot of muscle when you first start just doing basic exercising, and muscle weighs way more than fat. Look in the mirror, and see the results. I really hate standing on that scale even today. It really is just something that will disapoint you in the end. That and have fun with it! Living Well isn't a chore, it's a blessing. You won't miss the food after you feel so much better!
